Building on the continued success of our existing component identification and analysis instruments, the Pro DCA brings a number of new features to the Both amateurs and professionals alike.
Key Features
The DCA Pro is an advanced new design that features a graphic display, USB communication, PC software and a better component identification library.
The DCA Pro supports all the components that the popular Peak Atlas DCA55 supports, but adds so much more. Supported components include
Transistors (including Darlingtons), Silicon Types, and Germanium. Gain measures, Vbe and leaks.
MOSFETs, enhancement mode and depletion mode types. Measure on-limit (in 5mA) and approx transconductance (for 3mA-5mA space).
JFETs, normally including the various SIC types. Measures obstructed voltage (to 1uA) and approx transconductance (for 3mA-5mA space).
IGBTs (isolated bipolar transistors). Over-limit measurements (at 5mA).
Diodes and diode networks.
Bicolor LEDs and LEDs (2 lead and three types of lead).
Zener diodes with voltage measurement zener up to 9V at 5mA.
Voltage regulators (voltage regulation measures, output voltage drop, quiescent current).
Triacs and thyristors that require less than 10 mA of gate current and holding current.
Stand-alone or with a PC
The instrument can be used stand-alone or connected to a PC. Either way, the Pro DCA will automatically identify the component type, identify the pinout and also measure a number of component parameters such as transistor gain, leakage, MOSFET and IGBT threshold voltages, PN characteristics and more.
Curve Tracing
When connected to a PC using the supplied USB cable, a low current range curve tracing functions can be realized. Various types of graphs are available, with more to follow:
Bipolar output characteristic transistors, Ic vs VCE.
Bipolar input characteristic transistors, Vbe vs IB.
MOSFET transfer function, Vgs Id vs.
JFET transfer function, Vgs Id vs.
Junction pn I/V curves, duplex options (for Zener diodes).
Trace curve is performed using test parameters in the range of + /-12V, + /-12mA. All trace curve data can be immediately pasted into Excel © for graphing and analysis. PC software comes with the DCA Pro on a USB memory spike stick. Software developed for Windows XP or Windows 7.
